WFH-WFA

The nature of how and where we work has shifted.

“Work From Home” (WFH) is not a new concept for most business but it is rapidly becoming the prevailing way we work. When we move out of the office and into a remote work environment, we put a special burden on IT to come up with programs, policies, and technology to support productivity and data security.

“Work From Anywhere” (WFA) is the new normal. Many employee groups now have options to work from home, the office, relocate to a new city…truly anywhere.

One commonality across all businesses when making this shift is a heavier reliance on the mobile device to get work done. No longer will employees have ready access to the corporate scanner/copier. Nor will employees be able to drop a report or document on a co-workers desk. It will not be possible to host a meeting in the conference room and utilize a whiteboard. It won’t be as simple to show someone what you’re working on.

Inkscreen helps you meet this challenge head-on with a secure content capture app providing employees with some of the critical productivity tools they need in a work-from-home environment without sacrificing data security and corporate control. In one single app, CAPTOR combines the functionality of a camera, document scanner, video recorder, audio recorder, QR Code reader, and annotator. There is a version of CAPTOR for nearly all Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) platforms. Register for a free trial to experience the power of CAPTOR in your secure mobility environment today!

CAPTOR 1.3.2 (Android): e-Signature, Speech Recognition, OCR, & Enhanced Search

Josh Bohls

CAPTOR 1.3.2 for Android Enterprise, BlackBerry Dynamics, and MobileIron AppConnect is releasing this week for our customers globally. This update represents a significant advancement of the CAPTOR Android user experience and brings the app more in line with iOS versions of CAPTOR.

e-Signature. Need to electronically sign a PDF document? Use CAPTOR! Your Company likely restricts which apps can open PDF files sent to your email. Since CAPTOR is a managed app it is likely approved for you to open a PDF in CAPTOR. Double-tap the page you wan to sign, and then select the new e-Signature annotation option. Draw your signature and add it to the page (you can resize the signature element as needed). CAPTOR e-Signature annotations are unique in that they automatically display the authenticated username, time/date, and the location (if enabled).

Speech Recognition (*BETA). CAPTOR Android now utilizes Speech Recognition to process audio recordings. This process may occur on Google Cloud services, therefore it is disabled by default. To enable Speech Recognition, the configuration must be added and enabled in your organization’s EMM -AND- the user will have to accept the permission when prompted in the app. This feature is currently in Beta. If you are interested in joining the test group please email Inkscreen Support.

OCR. CAPTOR Android also now utilizes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to process photos and documents. This service identifies any text content that appear in photos or documents. For example, a photo of an employee wearing a name tag “Josh” would be tagged with that text and found later in a search. The OCR process always occurs on the device without relying on cloud services, therefore it is enabled by default for all customers.

Enhanced Search. Speech Recognition and OCR both contribute to CAPTOR Enhanced Search. You can now enter a word or phrase into the Search field, and CAPTOR will be able to find any content that includes that string. CAPTOR Search now encompasses all of the following data:

  • Text that appears in photos

  • Text that appears in documents

  • Speech/words detected in audio recordings

  • File names

  • Folder names

  • Text that appear in content notes

  • Text label annotations added to photos or documents

We hope you enjoy CAPTOR 1.3.2 (Android). Please share feedback and let us know how we can continue to improve the award winning CAPTOR applications.
